Minnesota Timberwolves: Bold Predictions – Malik Beasley gets traded

As I have alluded to throughout this piece, I would bet on Malik Beasley being moved at some point this offseason. It makes too much sense.

Yes, Beasley has been great when he’s playing – 20 points per game on 44/40/85 splits.

That said, a lot of his success came before Anthony Edwards, a player that plays the same position, started performing well. Additionally, Beasley could be moved back to the bench into the sixth-man role – something he may not be happy with given the role that he had in Denver.

A Malik Beasley trade could be mutually beneficial – allowing a contender to bring in Beasley to start as a lights-out shooter while also getting the Timberwolves assets (OR a versatile two-way forward that can help them win now).

There are a lot of landing spots that make sense, but as mentioned with Jaylen Nowell, his presence is more replaceable on a roster that has a lot of high-level shooters in the backcourt.

Every contender is looking to add shooters, and Beasley has the perfect contract length and value as a trade asset. It makes too much sense not to explore.

And with the Timberwolves skirting along the edge of the luxury tax, a Malik Beasley trade will almost certainly be discussed.

Another player that could be moved is Ricky Rubio, although his contract is not going to bring any assets (with the exception of another contract that could be even worse than his).

Next. 3 reasons Jaden McDaniels was a better pick than Obi Toppin. dark

There are a lot of things the Minnesota Timberwolves could do this offseason – but in all honesty – it could be a lot more dry and uneventful than most anticipate.
