The Minnesota Timberwolves have a plethora of young talent on their roster – a lot of which is headlined by their sub-30-aged star Karl-Anthony Towns. Ranking those players in terms of potential is an inevitably difficult task, although in terms of players that have NOT reached 25 years of age (yet), there is a clear winner on the Timberwolves roster.

That said, the Timberwolves are one of the youngest teams in the NBA. They’ve had a lot of draft capital over the course of the past decade-or-so, but have only used some of it to their advantage. Now, with the 2020 first overall pick Anthony Edwards shining, it looks as though Minnesota really has something on their roster.

The trade for D’Angelo Russell has been a little underwhelming so far, but in extended minutes together, you can see the vision for what Wolves general manager Gersson Rosas has been trying to build.

Things have looked bleak in the past – particularly following the Jimmy Butler outburst and trade. But now the Timberwolves have playoff expectations and a really, really young team. Whether they’re able to fulfill those expectations really comes down to just how good their young(er) players can become. We already know what Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell are – and if those two are able to take yet another leap in play – it would drastically help the Timberwolves.

However, the more realistic thing would be for any of these three players to take the leap and become the Timberwolves’ clear cut third best player.

Qualifier: Player has to be under 25 years old.
