Player with the most potential on the Timberwolves: Anthony Edwards

Look, if you had any doubt about who would be the first player in terms of potential on the Timberwolves, I don’t know what to tell you. It’s clearly the player that’s going to finish among the top-2 in Rookie of the Year voting this year – Anthony Edwards – and for good reason.

Over the course of the season, Edwards got tremendously better – he became more efficient in basically every aspect of his game. Since April, Edwards averaged 23 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game on shooting splits of 47/37/78. He was, put simply, the best player on the floor certain games – and may actually be the Timberwolves best asset (although it would be hard to beat out Karl-Anthony Towns for that title).

The Timberwolves found a cornerstone to their franchise with the 2020 first overall pick, Anthony Edwards. While he started the season rough, continuity among coaching staff and surrounding players proved to be a driving force in displaying how good Anthony Edwards is – and it will be very fun to see how he can grow moving forward.

Again, it’s hard to put a ceiling on how good players can be. Anthony Edwards is a young star. He has a clear path to becoming a top-30 player. But beyond that? It’s hard to see him ever becoming a superstar – someone that can win a championship as the best player on the roster – but who knows – maybe he will prove that label wrong.
