This move, for the Minnesota Timberwolves, would be small yet impactful. To acquire a solid rotational stretch big-man, they send out Josh Okogie and Jaylen Nowell. The Timberwolves also receive a late-first round pick.

Minnesota Timberwolves: 3 under-the-radar trade ideas

JaMychal Green averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds per game this past year on shooting splits of 46/40/81. He was a very low-volume player, but never made huge mistakes and does not need the ball in his hands in order to be successful.

Josh Okogie to the Denver Nuggets is something I have proposed in the past because it makes a lot of sense. Denver’s biggest need is perimeter defense, and Okogie would bring just that (and honestly, not much else.

In order to match salary, the Timberwolves are sending out Jaylen Nowell, but receiving the 26th pick in the draft this year, which they could use to potentially find another eventual rotational player. Another option would be to move the pick in favor for another veteran, in a separate trade.

Several players in the late first-round could be of interest to the Timberwolves, such as international forward Roko Prkacin and Usman Garuba. Auburn’s JT Thor could also be in consideration.

The Minnesota Timberwolves need to find a way to add veterans at a low cost, and that is what this trade would be doing. Josh Okogie and Jaylen Nowell could eventually be something, but Green is going to impact winning as soon as this coming year for the Timberwolves.
