Okay, the common theme today has been Josh Okogie being a trade piece, and just to be clear, that was unintentional. But some of the reasons his name is of interest is because Okogie is a smaller wing whose minutes are going to be threatened by full health of Anthony Edwards and Malik Beasley (as well as the addition of Leandro Bolmaro).

Minnesota Timberwolves: 3 under-the-radar trade ideas

The Timberwolves adding a stretch big that can positionally defend fairly well would drastically help the team, particularly when Karl-Anthony Towns is not on the floor.

The Dallas Mavericks, much like the aforementioned Denver Nuggets, need to improve upon their half court defense along the perimeter, and Josh Okogie should be able to help that, especially when guarding 1-3.

The common theme is this: The Minnesota Timberwolves need to find ways to add veterans, particularly in the frontcourt. All three of the targets mentioned here could drastically help the overall consistency in that position group – something that most teams fighting for a playoff spot have. The Timberwolves, as of right now, are looking at Jaden McDaniels, Jake Layman, and a restricted free agency (Jarred Vanderbilt) to hold down the SF/PF/second-string big positions, and that group simply is not good enough.

It remains to be seen whether Gersson Rosas will make a trade to address this, but as things stand right now, there is a question of whether the Timberwolves have enough disposable assets in order to make it happen.
