The Los Angeles Lakers are absolutely going to be interested in Malik Beasley this summer. It makes too much sense for the two teams to at least discuss a trade. In this scenario, Minnesota gives him up, while the receiving Talen Horton-Tucker as a part of a sign-and-trade.

The logistics of this trade are interesting from a CBA standpoint since it goes with the Gilbert Arenas rule AND sign-and-trade stuff, but again, none of this is concrete.

In order to make the salary work, the Charlotte Hornets take on Marc Gasol for a late-2nd round pick, something that makes sense given how many young players they have. Adding a late-career veteran that gets rotational minutes for them should be a no-brainer.

In addition to Horton-Tucker, the Timberwolves also get the 22nd overall pick, which they could use to select either a pro-ready college player or look to add a high-upside guy. One of the players that would make the most sense at that stage in the draft is Kai Jones of Texas, who could come in and play PF/C as a rim runner with defensive and shooting potential.

For the Minnesota Timberwolves, this trade would be about adding two potential long-term pieces to the core while getting off of a risky albeit valuable asset in Malik Beasley.
