With every good nickname, there is a bad one to follow it.  These are the players that had the most unfortunate nicknames in team history.  From the bad, to the awkward, here we go.

The Starting Five: Worst Minnesota Timberwolves nicknames

Jerryd Bayless: The Black Hole

Being called a blackhole in basketball is not a good thing as it usually pertains to not passing once being passed to, and shot selection was a problem with Bayless.

Oleksiy Pecherov: The White Hole

Pecherov had it bad. In addition to ‘The White Hole’, he also carried the nickname ‘Stewie’.

With an awful career shooting percentage of 38.6, it’s fair to assume that “The White Hole” is the exact same as “The Black Hole”.

Corey Brewer: The Drunken Dribbler

If you ever watched Brewer play, this nickname makes perfect sense.

High energy, pushing tempo, but just a bit out of control. His college coach Billy Donovan described Brewer as a “giraffe on roller skates.” Checks out.

Ricky Davis: Wrong Rim Ricky

It’s one thing to stat pad, but it’s another thing to shoot at your own hoop in an attempt to add a rebound to your stat sheet.

Davis is also known as ‘Ricky Buckets’, which makes up for it in some ways.

Cole Aldrich: Cole Sore

Just a play on words according to Aldrich’s former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Nick Collison, but it has to be one of the most unfortunate nicknames in league history. Imagine having to explain that one to everyone you meet.
