Minnesota Timberwolves: 3 improvements young Wolves must make
Timberwolves Improvement No. 3: Jaden McDaniels’ shot selection
Aside from the trio of KAT, D-Lo, and Ant, Jaden McDaniels is another player that should make Timberwolves fans excited for the upcoming season.
So far in his short career, McDaniels has shown the potential of being a two-way stud who could be the power forward of the future whom the Wolves are seemingly always looking to find.
The Wolves are featuring McDaniels in Las Vegas Summer League and planning for him to have a bigger role for the Wolves this season, and the Wolves know that improving specific aspects of his game is especially important.
As a rookie, McDaniels was a great defender off the bench but was still learning the ropes on both sides of the ball. At times during his rookie season, McDaniels didn’t have the best shot selection yet and often forced up bad shots when he was in an uncomfortable situation.
In Year Two, McDaniels simply needs to focus on finding and getting to his spots, and if the shot isn’t there, passing it to someone else. Out of all the Wolves young players, McDaniels has one of the highest ceilings, and if he can improve on the offensive end he could definitely become the two-way beast this team is looking for.
It has been clear that the Timberwolves roster may finally be coming together. With players like Nowell and McDaniels showing exciting flashes in summer league play, Wolves fans should definitely be excited about the upcoming season.
If the young role players on this Timberwolves team are able to step up their game and be significant pieces off the bench or in the starting lineup, then watch out.
