The Minnesota Timberwolves have a lot to look forward to this coming NBA season. They have a plethora of young players – all of which have yet to reach their peak potential.

If you are unaware, 2k Sports releases an NBA game each year where they rate every player in the NBA in attempt to create a realistic basketball simulation game.

One of the Timberwolves’ core players, Karl-Anthony Towns, already had his rating revealed, as it was a 87 overall. Still, it is an interesting exercise to guess how each player will be rated, as it is often an indication of what the national media / casual NBA fans think of the Timberwolves’ team.

D’Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell missed a large portion of last season for the Timberwolves, and was not particularly impressive early on, when he was fully healthy. Although he looked a bit better later after returning, I would still expect his 2k22 rating to decrease. Despite averaging nearly 20 points with a high amount of assists, it is fair to assume his rating drop – it’s just a question of how much.

Russell NBA 2k22 Rating Prediction: 82 overall overall

Malik Beasley

Similar to Russell, Malik Beasley had some very impressive moments this past season. He also, however, missed a large portion of games. In 37 appearances, Beasley averaged 20 points per game on shooting splits of 44/40/85. His 2k rating should increase, but there needs to be consistency in his scoring (and defense) in winning games before it’s a substancial difference.

Beasley NBA 2k22 Rating Prediction: 80 overall
