Minnesota Timberwolves 2k22 ratings: Patrick Beverley is a 76 overall

Patrick Beverley has made the playoffs every season he has played in the NBA and was recently a valuable contributor to a Clippers squad that made the Western Conference Finals without Kawhi Leonard.

This alone shows how Beverley’s impact contributes to a winning culture, using his insane motor and defensive drive to cause headaches for offenses around the league.

While still a role player with a limited offensive ceiling, Beverley showed the ability to hit shots when he needed to this past post-season while still playing his brand of hard-nosed defense. Because of this, his rating should be more in line with those of the better backups in the league.

Adjusted Rating: 79 overall

Minnesota Timberwolves 2k22 ratings: Naz Reid is a 76 overall

It’s easy to overlook the impact of Reid considering he is the backup to one of the best centers in the game right now, but Naz quietly had a breakout season in 2021, and especially when he became a starter during Towns absence for a good chunk of the early patr of the season.

Reid displayed an improvement in scoring, defense, ball-handling, and his counting stats across the board. Reid essentially plays like a diet version of Karl Anthony-Towns but is not quite at the level of individual impact that Towns brings, cementing him as a high-end backup who can start if needed.

This rating is close, but Naz deserves a bit of a bump.

Adjusted Rating: 78 overall

Minnesota Timberwolves 2k22 ratings: Jaden McDaniels is a 75 overall

Jaden McDaniels definitely deserved a spot on one of the All-Rookie teams this past season.

As a late lottery pick that was projected to have more long-term upside and not much contribution right away, McDaniels came to play early in the season due to injuries facing the team, and by season’s end was arguably the team’s best defender.

McDaniels was able to switch onto most 3s and 4s and even some 5’s thanks to his lanky frame and long reach. He was a consistent defensive force, and even showed flashes of shot-creation and ball handling that makes you believe his ceiling is a lot higher than people thought before.

This season will give him a chance to break out as a full-time starter either at the 3 or the 4 going forward. Despite relatively low counting stats due to limited minutes early and a limited role later in the season, McDaniels absolutely passes the eye test.

Adjusted Rating: 77 overall
