The Minnesota Timberwolves looked like a team playing the second night of a back-to-back at Staples Center on Saturday night.

Minnesota Timberwolves: Key takeaways from Wolves’ blowout loss to Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers secured their third win in as many games against the Wolves in the early going of the season, winning by a score of 129-102. All three losses have come by a double-digit margin.

The second leg of the Los Angeles road trip is a slog even with a day or two to prepare. Still, it wasn’t a great look for the Wolves to drag their feet as much as they did, or to show no progress across three games against a team missing its best player.

Minnesota looked like a completely different team from its 107-83 win over the Lakers in the same building the night prior. The back-to-back probably had something to do with it, but that first game is looking more like a reflection of the Lakers’ issues than a possible Wolves surge.

Head coach Chris Finch didn’t know if the Wolves got complacent after the win or struggled with the back-to-back, he just knew his team wasn’t ready to play.

“We were out there performing, not really competing,” Finch said on Wolves Live Postgame.

Here are three takeaways from the blowout loss.
