The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently sitting at the .500 mark, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t improvement to be had via the trade market. Could Sachin Gupta all but guarantee a playoff spot for his squad by pulling off a blockbuster trade?

Could a blockbuster trade get the Timberwolves to the Promised Land?

In the interest of not jinxing absolutely everything, I am going to state a fact: the Timberwolves are sitting at the .500 mark just one game shy of the season’s halfway point.

*Oh gosh. Okay, deep breaths.*

You guys might have to sit down for this one. Ready? The Timberwolves are currently the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, and if the season ended today, the Wolves would make the play-in tournament.

*Spits water, checks the time for no reason.*

Check your pulse, pinch yourself, yes you are still alive.  Now there’s one more fact I am obligated to present. The Timberwolves have defeated LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers twice and are sitting just two games back of the Dallas Mavericks and the No. 5 seed in the West.

*Hops in the car with random stranger and yells at them to “Drive!”*

Now that we got that out of the way, the Timberwolves should continue to look to improve and climb up the standings. Remember, the ultimate goal is a championship, not just making the playoffs.

Here is a trade package that should help the Timberwolves go from pretenders to contenders and hopefully not ruin absolutely everything we have going for us, because that would be depressing.

Yes, it’s complicated, but it works from a salary perspective, per FanSpo.com’s Trade Machine.

Now, let’s explore the details.
