Karl Anthony Towns is already on the prowl for more NBA success

The taste of success is sweet to any professional athlete. But to Minnesota Timberwolves star center Karl Anthony Towns, it’s a rare taste indeed. Since arriving on the team in the 2015-16 season, KAT has only experienced the NBA Playoffs on two occasions. And on both occasions, that experience was short-lived.

The T-Wolves were sent packing after just five games in the 2018 NBA Playoffs when they had to face the Houston Rockets. That same quick exit occurred once more in the 2022 NBA Playoffs, this time the ticket home was stamped after just six games against the Memphis Grizzlies.

But long ago, the rule at any family dinner table was to always leave the table a bit hungry. Now, years later, that bit of advice seems to come in handy.  At least, it seems to come in handy in terms of covering a recent Tweet from Towns

Hey, that’s a positive sign. After all, there is any number of instances where athletes tire of the futile grind and have already checked out mentally long before the team can add the right quality and versatility of talent around that player to make deeper playoff runs.

I don’t think that the Minnesota Timberwolves are at any risk of that right now. Not only is Towns showing signs of renewed enthusiasm, but he is surrounded by a strong and young supporting cast. In fact, some may even claim that the yolk for future success is off Towns’ shoulders, and is now the burden of Anthony Edwards.
