Minnesota Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley joined two ESPN television shows: Get Up and First Take; to air out his grievances with Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul after the Suns were blown off the floor in game seven vs. the Dallas Mavericks Sunday night by the score of Mavericks 123 Suns 90.
In a game where CP3 and the Suns probably played their worst performance of the season, Devin Booker and Chris Paul combined for 3 points at the half on 0-11 FG. Paul finishes the game with just 11 points on a 3-14 FG night.
You can bet that was definitely not the way either Chris Paul or the Phoenix Suns wanted to end this postseason race, especially on their own basketball court. Suns veteran PG Chris Paul had this to say about his poor performance versus the Dallas Mavericks in that game-seven beatdown.
“That’s on me as the point guard, the leader of the team,” Suns guard Chris Paul said.

The next day, on Monday morning’s GET UP ESPN Minnesota Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley made sure to let his arch-rival Chris Paul hear all about it. The entire video is here for you (7:05 minutes):
Beverly later followed up that performance on ESPN FIRST TAKE, where he continued to bash Paul and the Phoenix Suns.
“Ain’t nobody afraid of anybody over there in Phoenix, man. Everybody in the league knows that.” (see video)
While Patrick Beverley may be right, most NBA players go by a code of conduct that must be adhered to off the court. On NBA the JUMP Matt Barnes made sure to humble Beverley with comments of his own.
"You're not that guy. Plain and simple" 👀

Barnes was not the only one who came to the rescue of CP3. Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard chimed in as well.
Bra on TV acting like his word law. Speaking on private convos and praying on mfs downfall. This weird behavior smh 🤷🏽♂️ … I ain’t got a horse in the race https://t.co/F6Cln8BBst

Beverly and Paul’s disgruntled relationship stems back to their College days when Beverly claims the pair attended a LeBron James camp where he destroyed Paul. Their toxic relationship eventually rolled over to the NBA. But rather than fade away, it appears to have gotten worse.
Where it turned into a physical altercation occurred when Los Angeles Clippers PG Patrick Beverley pushed Phoenix Suns PG Chris Paul in the back during Game six of the Western Conference Finals last postseason. Beverly ultimately got a one-game suspension at the beginning of the 2021-22 NBA season. At the time, Beverly was the veteran who was brought in by the Clippers to take over the position vacated by Chris Paul.
As you can see, their dysfunctional relationship is far from over. Expect some intense battles from the pair going forward, Paul is entering his 18th season in the league, while Beverly is entering his 11th season in the National Basketball Association.
When Suns Chris Paul was asked his thought about his NBA future after an early playoff exit, he responded with the only answer he could have.
Chris Paul: “We’ll be right back here next year … I’m not retiring”

NBA futures? Neither Chris Paul nor Patrick Beverly is going anywhere. So this televised flare-up will be talked about when the Timberwolves face the Suns again.
