Welcome aboard Tim Connelly

Welcome, Tim Connelly. Connelly is now officially the new President of Basketball Operations of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Connelly recently served the last nine seasons as the President of Basketball Operations for the Denver Nuggets. It was under his watch with the Denver Nuggets that he turned the Nuggets into a top playoff contender, albeit that required five seasons of gradual improvement.

He inherits a playoff team that is already where the Nuggets were five years into his tenure. 46 wins 36 losses and hoping to build on that success.

Around the league, Connelly has been praised for his ability to interact effectively with front-office executives, coaches, and players. Talk about a culture changer? He is just what the Minnesota Timberwolves need. Someone who can come in and get the ball rolling.

The Timberwolves are coming fresh off an incredible run in the 2022 postseason and are looking to improve a team with two All-Stars in (Karl Anthony Towns, and D’Angelo Russell) and a potential star player in Anthony Edwards.

Connelly will be responsible for all decisions made within the Timberwolves basketball operations department. But having just arrived, he will lean heavily upon Timberwolves Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Sachin Gupta, and Head Coach Chris Finch to improve the team going forward. Connelly does have past history with Finch.
