Even as we all await the return of the Minnesota Timberwolves playing NBA basketball or even NBA-related events such as the 2022 NBA Draft, we can get our fix of Timberwolves play. But fear not, as there are an ever-increasing number of venues to get your fix of Minnesota Timberwolves basketball. The latest? Netflix.
Well, maybe I stretched the truth a bit. Rather than the entire Minnesota Timberwolves team, you can get a glimpse of Anthony Edwards. You see, he’s been cast in Adam Sandler’s Netflix original Hustle. Along the lines of Trouble with the Curve, this movie stars Sandler as a career-declining basketball scout who attempts to restart his standing in the industry by signing and promoting Juancho Hernangómez’s character named Bo Cruz.

So who does Anthony Edwards play in the movie? Well, he has a smaller role in this one. And due to his name not appearing in the major credits released so far, I wouldn’t plan for any acting awards coming his way anytime soon.
“It’s probably the best thing I ever did while being in the NBA.”

Per his video clip (above), he states that he plays a character named Kermit. As Edwards describes the role, he is going head to head with Hernangómez’s character on the basketball court.
The picture is due to be released on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
While this is an Anthony Edwards tidbit, it does align nicely with the Minnesota Timberwolves News recently over how President Tim Connelly wants to reshape the team’s atmosphere into a winning culture.
Having an NBA player on the roster who has starred in a movie in just his second year in the NBA can certainly add to that winning culture. Edwards is a rapidly rising star in the NBA, and this latest news will only add to his NBA career. In the meantime, the best thing for Anthony Edwards right now will be to help lead his team back to the NBA Playoffs this year, as well as advance past the opening round.
