Regardless of whether or not Minnesota Timberwolves fans align with Team KAT or Team Ant-Man, here’s some breaking news for you. It’s the Minnesota Timberwolves team, and both Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards are on the same team. This is the NBA folks and not the Twilight series where it’s the vampires vs. the werewolves.

Well, to logical fans, that is. But oh how the media want to spin this the other way.  Like this latest assertion that the Timberwolves are Ant’s team. In what way can the Minnesota Timberwolves prosper Anthony Edwards and not Karl-Anthony Towns?

As soon as the conversation pivots to individual players over the team, any hope for an NBA Championship is lost. Look how the individual statistics for Russell Westbrook have benefitted the player. Now, tell me how many NBA Championships he has played for? The answer is zero.

Timberwolves face tough decisions

The Minnesota Timberwolves face some tough choices for the next few weeks. But the decisions that the team’s front office will not be in the least bit aimed at helping Team KAT or Team Ant-Man, but will be entirely focused on improving the Minnesota Timberwolves team. Whether we recognize it or not, the ability to win championships is thanks to the entire roster, not just one or two stars of the team.

Even NBA legend Michael Jordan was unable to win the NBA Championship until the Chicago Bulls added the right pieces around him. For their short history together, I believe that Towns and Edwards play very complementary styles of play.

It’s tough to judge how a cake tastes while it is still in batter form. The Timberwolves are still in the batter phase, trying to find the right combination of youth and veteran players to make this team much more competitive in the 2022-23 NBA season. I believe that the Timberwolves will continue to show progress this season.

Deciding which faction runs this team is meaningless rhetoric. Both Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards play for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Until that changes, you can cheer for both players. In fact, you probably should.
