Will Minnesota Timberwolves attempt to construct Twin Towers 2.0?

The giant from the desert
Of course, there are more ways to help out a KAT as far as the Minnesota Timberwolves are concerned. Another young but out-of-favor starting NBA center, Phoenix Suns Deandre Ayton, could make complete sense as well
After a disappointing playoff series, Ayton is viewed by many as both expendable and perhaps the scapegoat for a Suns team that many expected to reach the NBA Championship series. Now, he is expected to play for a new NBA team next year.
If he is not worth bringing back for the Suns, why should the Timberwolves kick his tires? Well, he was a solid teammate for the Phoenix Suns and was certainly a formidable force when teamed up with marksman shooting guard Devon Booker.
If the Timberwolves want to make the leap, Ayton would be the go-to-the-head-of-the-class type of player. He also dominates the boards, averaging 3.2 offensive rebounds and 10.5 total rebounds over his career. He is a physical presence under the basket, hitting his high-percentage shots while grabbing the basketball and feeding his teammates to score on the other side of the court.
While the hope to add either Deandre Ayton or Jusuf Nurkic may seem out of reach at the moment, do not disregard the fact that the Minnesota Timberwolves have an impressive arsenal of four 2022 NBA Draft picks, and a number of intriguing players to dangle out there for a potential sign-and-trade transaction. Timberwolves President Tim Connelly certainly has the confidence and the resume to justify a go-for-broke type of move to debut for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
While being aggressive does not automatically mean that the Timberwolves will splash NBA headlines with a blockbuster, I would not rule it out at all. The window for the Timberwolves will not stay open forever. Fortune favors the bold. Stay tuned . . .
