Frontcourt phenomenon

The beauty about Jović is the fact that he is young enough to develop in almost whatever role the Timberwolves coaching staff trains him to fill. And he is blessed with the smarts and skillsets to be able to deliver.  He may not be an out-of-the-gate starter for the Timberwolves, but there really should not be that expectation from the 19th overall pick of the draft. Rather, the Timberwolves are looking for a player who can absorb some minutes, and develop into a starter down the road.

He can certainly deliver that.

Best of all, the guy can pass the ball. He has a solid skill set that is more about the work above the neck than pure athleticism. He has a great court awareness, creates his own shots, draws defenders only to pass out to the open teammate, or pulls up and drops the step-back trey.

As you can see by watching his NBA draft workout he can move very well for a player of his size. He has a great shooting form and a solid ability to set up his shot. He reminds me of Danilo Gallinari but with the ability to play some point guard as well. He is exactly what this Timberwolves team needs, a stretch forward who can shoot and handle the rock when needed. I would love to see the Timberwolves grab him with their 19th pick.

New Timberwolves president Tim Connelly has stated that he will be aggressive in the offseason. That includes the NBA Draft. While the safe pick would be to choose the best guard on the board at 19, that may not be the best move for the Minnesota Timberwolves. If the team plans to keep D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards, then focusing elsewhere in the draft is the right move.

Trending. Tim Connelly loves Minnesota Timberwolves Anthony Edwards game. light
