Draft Net. Draft Room. C. International. Yannick Nzosa. player. 50. 2378

Yannick Nzosa is one of the prospects in the 2022 NBA Draft with no true consensus. As an international player who was born in Congo, the availability of his development is less abundant. He is a young 18-year-old 6-foot-11 200-pound center who will likely be a draft and stash option for whichever NBA team chooses to draft him in the 2022 NBA Draft.

While his production is a bit . . . underwhelming, his true potential is in his fundamental size and athleticism. And at 18 years of age, he is essentially a blank slate of incredible upside and potential, begging for the right coaching staff to unlock all of that latent ability into a future NBA star.

In terms of what he is producing now? Well, 2.1 points per game, 1.8 rebounds per game, and 0.6 blocks per game in just over 10 minutes. He shoots 55.1 percent from the floor, and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line. He has played two seasons in the Euroleague and has shown varying rates of progress and development.

He is the type of prospect who is quite intriguing, but one who I really cannot envision the Timberwolves aiming at in this draft. Even as a draft and stash prospect, he may need two or three seasons before he is ready to play in the NBA. Are the Timberwolves at a spot where they can bank draft picks today in hopes of an NBA center in two or three years?

Nzosa is absolutely worth that investment by an NBA team. I am just not convinced that he is right for the Minnesota Timberwolves at this point in time.
