Timberwolves draft options:

If the Timberwolves decide to retain the 19th overall pick, they will strive to add rebounding and defense. Duke’s center Mark Williams, who stands 7-foot-0 and weighs 242-pounds, led the ACC in blocks, blocks per game, and block percentage this past season. He is a polished player, who has tremendous upside and almost no glaring weaknesses in his game.

The ACC Defensive Player of the Year could be the missing piece the Timberwolves are looking for. An NBA-ready center who could come in play heavy minutes and guard the paint. He is not expected to fall outside of lottery picks, so the Timberwolves may need to trade all the way up into a Top-10 pick if the team wants to emerge with Williams.

Timberwolves’ draft could land a solid role player

If the Timberwolves stand pat at 19, there are some players of interest who may fall to the team there.

Of course, no method is certain. Especially with the first draft for Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly spinning the dials, flipping the switches, and pulling the levers. But expect the Minnesota Timberwolves to make some noise in the 2022 NBA Draft
