The Minnesota Timberwolves are not shying away from the auditioning of front-court players as the team’s front office continues to construct the team’s summer league roster. As a matter of fact, the team appears to be determined to kick every rock and turn over every stone in the search for front-court help.

I don’t want to sound too optimistic, but the third player we are discussing being added to the roster has some intriguing upside. So much so that he could land on the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ roster.

McCormack is the third player we’ve discussed so far, and all three have been bigs. McCormack, however, is the first addition so far who has had a bonafide 2022 NBA Draft projection of a late second-round selection. Assuming that draft analysts know what they are talking about, you may want to sit up and read about McCormack closely.

For starters, he’s a powerhouse. He stands 6-foot-10 and weighs 265-pounds. And yes, he knows how to use his big presence to block out near the rim and lay claim to more than his share of rebounds. He is not a great jumper, so his block numbers are a bit underwhelming, but he more than makes up for that with a solid handle on the basketball and an ever-growing quiver of shots.

He does not have a perimeter shot to speak of, but he is a steady scorer from short to mid-range, and his 80 percent shooting from the foul line makes opposing teams think twice about fouling him.

Best of all, McCormack gets high marks for maturity, doing the little things that can help the overall team success, and is a great locker room guy.
