Building a post-season roster

The Timberwolves are not bluffing, because this is not a game of poker. The front office saw an opening, have confidence that they have counted the cards up to this point, and believe that they now have a winning hand. And if you look at who the team has on the starting five right now?  They very well could be right.

The roster is really starting to shine folks.

Timberwolves trade for Gobert to build their best NBA Playoff roster

The Minnesota Timberwolves did not load up their regular-season roster.  This was not about getting the best 15 players. This was every bit a gamble on landing their best eight players possible for a deep playoff run.

You can pencil in the starting five on the team as PG D’Angelo Russell, SG Anthony Edwards, SF Jaden McDaniels, PF Karl-Anthony Towns, and C Rudy Golbert. Behind them, you can expect guards Jaylen Nowell and Wendell Moore, with the front court of Taurean Prince, Kyle Anderson, and perhaps Naz Reid.

The roster has holes, but not needs. The team may add a point guard now, one to run the floor and back up D’Angelo Russell.
