Three observations from Timberwolves’ Summer League win vs Hornets

It was a dramatic contest that came down to the final seconds, but the Minnesota Timberwolves earned their second Summer League victory over the Charlotte Hornets Saturday afternoon, 89-86.

In a game defined by scoring runs, the Wolves went from 14 points down in the third quarter to up 15 points in the fourth quarter, and ended up just barely squeezing out a win in the closing moments.

After being up 10 with 91 seconds remaining, Minnesota committed a few costly turnovers and found themselves in a two-point game and Charlotte with the basketball. But Wendell Moore Jr. came up with a huge steal and Josh Minott blocked a potential game-tying shot by the Hornets in the final five seconds to ultimately seal the win for the Timberwolves.

As Minnesota closes out NBA Summer League action, here are three observations from the team’s gutsy win over Charlotte in Las Vegas.
