Adds depth to roster

Rivers is a ruthless competitor with sky-high confidence. He’s a tenacious on-ball defender that consistently applies ball pressure. With 60 career playoff games, Rivers has the most playoff experience on this Timberwolves roster.

Look for Rivers to provide secondary playmaking value and random heat-check nights. He shot 48 percent on 31 three-point attempts against the Trail Blazers in the 2021 playoffs. He got his personal revenge against Portland that year.

Rivers is still quick in space and has a deadly killer-crossover (between the legs dribble followed by a quick crossover). He has a prayer-like high floater in his game.

He adds veteran depth to the Timberwolves backcourt, an area that has gotten younger with recent roster changes.  While he can absorb critical minutes through the course of the long NNA season, he delivers much more to the team.

He is a seasoned vetaran of many NBA campaigns. As such, he is just as valuable in practice, on the bench talking to younger teammates, as he is on the basketball court scoring from the perimeter. Best of all, he is a trustworthy reserve come playoff time.
