Timberwolves Josh Minott snubbed by NBA SL honors
By Bret Stuter
While the Minnesota Timberwolves were so happy with the play of their rookie, forward Josh Minott, that they signed him to a standard multi-year deal, the NBA home office was a bit less impressed. How can we tell? Well, the NBA has published their NBA 2K23 All-Summer League first-team and second-team rosters, and no Minnesota Timberwolves player has been named.
But before we go over who was named, perhaps we would be better served to review how Josh Minott performed for the Minnesota Timberwolves?

That works out to 26 MPG, 12.2 PPG, 41.7 percent shooting from three-point range, 8.6 RPG, 1.4 APG, and 1.6 SPG. That’s excellent work. But it was not good enough for the NBA All-Summer League First Team.
Well, what about the Second Team? Nope, not there either.
Minott’s Game 2 and 3 scoring drought after such a promising debut of 22 points the first game did him in. Had he been able to sustain a streak of double-digit scoring throughout the event would have had him in a far more competitive position.
While Minott did not earn any NBA honors through his performance during summer league competition, he did land an NBA contract to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2022-23 season. While being named to either the First Team or Second Team would likely have been quite welcome, he ended with the outcome he most hoped for.
