On the bright side, Minnesota signed 10-year NBA veteran guard Austin Rivers to their backcourt. Rivers played last season in Denver, where he averaged 6.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 67 games.
Rivers will provide the Timberwolves with another guard to handle the ball and take on defensive assignments. Minnesota also added free agent role players Kyle Anderson and Bryn Forbes.

Anderson is an upgrade for the Timberwolves defensively and offensively with his ability to be a playmaker, rebounder, and a shot blocker.

As a defender his 6’9” 230lb with a 7’3” wingspan allows him to be highly versatile, switching and guarding 1-5. Below shows his ability to activate the ball and make his presence at the point of attack pic.twitter.com/akRG9KjF0J
On the other hand, Bryn Forbes is one of the NBA’s most effective shooters. His ability to shoot from beyond the arc will help the Timberwolves space the floor and improve their three-point percentage.
Bryn Forbes is a heck of a get on a 1-year minimum for the #Timberwolves. @JonKrawczynski with the agreement first. Wolves cap hit = $1,836,090. pic.twitter.com/l010KtwHWi
