There aren’t a lot of basketball post-game reports to share about the Minnesota Timberwolves today. And so, we are left with the type of NBA-related news to share.
In the NBA offseason, sometimes you have to expand your subject radius a little bit. After all, without real basketball news to go on, there are only so many topics that touch the NBA that fits everyone’s taste. And so, we try to cover more than the obvious basketball stories to punch things up a bit.
We know that Anthony Edwards was featured recently in a Netflix movie by Adam Shandler entitled Hustle and that Ant-Man made a rather positive impression on Shandler, cast, and crew. So in the spirit of that type of information, I have to tell you that Anthony Edwards is at it again.
The difference is, this time he is paired up with Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young, and he is not in a Netflix movie but rather a commercial for the soft drink Sprite. And it’s hilarious.

The commercial features the citrus-flavored Sprite soft drink in a new bottle design. The rest of the commercial then compares the same drink in a new bottle to a series of ever more outlandish basketball moves by either Anthony Edwards or Trae Young, with the help of a lot of special effects.
The comical pair of Edwards and Young make this a pretty funny and entertaining commercial. And based on the fact that this comes shortly after Edwards’s acting debut, it’s pretty clear that we will see him appear in more and more advertisement campaigns for a wide range of products and endorsements.
A star is born? I won’t go that far. But one of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ star players is beginning to earn some money off the basketball court as well.
