5. Anthony Edwards’ dunk on Miami

This was easily one of the most recognizable plays from any NBA team last season. On November 24th, the Miami Heat were in Minneapolis taking on the Timberwolves. About a minute after the start of the fourth quarter, D’Angelo Russell had the ball in his hands with Anthony Edwards calling for it.

Duncan Robinson was covering Edwards, and did his absolute best to deny him the ball. But with Ant’s superior speed, he cut behind Robinson and Russell threw him a pass. Gabe Vincent came over to help, but couldn’t stop Edwards from jumping over him and hammering home an absolutely monstrous throwdown.

In the midst of the excitement from the crowd, one could barely even hear the ref’s whistle that indicated Vincent had set his feet in time for the play to be called an offensive foul. Even so, this was such an impressive dunk that it still cracks the top five.
