2. Karl-Anthony Towns’ 60-piece versus Spurs
It makes sense that Karl-Anthony Towns is making multiple appearances on this list, because he was absolutely fantastic for the Timberwolves all year long. But he didn’t have a better performance than the night he poured in a team-record 60 points against the San Antonio Spurs on March 14th.
Playing just 36 minutes, KAT simply dominated in every facet of the game. He shot efficiently, finishing 19-for-31 from the floor, seven-of-11 from outside the arc, and 15-for-16 from the free throw line. To top it off, he also finished with 17 rebounds, three assists, and a steal. It was a performance even Kevin Garnett would have been proud of, as KG never had a scoring outburst as good as KAT’s.

Towns’ dominant performance helped the Timberwolves get their eighth win in nine games at the time, further pushing them up the standings and putting them in position to finish with a top seven seed at the end of the regular season. And speaking of their finish in the standings, that brings us to the number one moment in the Timberwolves’ 2021-22 season.
