2. Kyle Anderson

After spending the first four seasons of his career in San Antonio, Kyle Anderson had the luxury of learning defensive tactics and strategy from the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan. The result was him becoming an ultra-high IQ and extremely versatile defender.

Anderson’s basketball intelligence allows him to defend well without fouling, as he’s averaged less than two fouls per game every season of his career but one. He’s also very adept at getting steals, nabbing 77 of them last season in Memphis.

Like McDaniels, Anderson is a very switchable defender who is not afraid of taking on any defensive assignment on the floor. He’s also just as effective off-ball as he is on, routinely denying his man the ball and knowing when to come over for help. When Anderson is on the floor, Timberwolves fans should feel good about the team’s chances of getting a stop.
