4. Transition slam on Pelicans
Not even a week into the 2021-22 season, Ant’s fierce athleticism was already in midseason form. When the Timberwolves took on the Pelicans on October 25, it was midway through the third quarter when Brandon Ingram barreled down the lane, looking to make a play.
When Karl-Anthony Towns stripped him of the ball, it wound up in the hands of Edwards. Racing the other way, Kira Lewis attempted to pick up Edwards. But that’s a tall task when he’s already running straight past you.
As the only man home to defend the basket for the Pelicans, Trey Murphy did his best to challenge Edwards. But like most defenders against Ant Man, he wound up on the wrong end of a poster. In the midst of a 16-4 Timberwolves run, Edwards’ dunk brought both the team bench and the Minnesota crowd to an uproar.
