1. Poster dunk on Yuta Watanabe

This is the play that put Anthony Edwards on the map. The one that cemented him as a force to be reckoned with in his rookie season. Pretty much every NBA fan already knew who he was after he was drafted first overall, but this was the moment that he became well-known to even the most casual of fans. Dunking over top of the 6-foot-10 Yuta Watanabe was Ant’s first signature play.

At the time, attendance at the Target Center was limited, and thus, there were no fans in the building to witness this epic play. A real unfortunate circumstance, as there’s no doubt this dunk would’ve blown the roof off the place.

But even if Minnesota fans didn’t get to react to it in person, they certainly reacted on social media. Just like his dunk against the Heat the following year, it was one of the most popular plays of the season among NBA fans. It’s wildly impressive that Anthony Edwards has a case for dunk of the year in both of his professional seasons so far. He’s a walking highlight reel, and Timberwolves fans have a lot to look forward to for years to come.
