Player #1: Jaden McDaniels

The Timberwolves have not kept their belief in 21-year-old forward Jaden McDaniels’ potential a secret. The team has consistently expressed a sentiment that McDaniels has elite defensive capabilities and has supported these statements by keeping the former Washington Husky away from trade talks.

Coming off a promising end to last season and an elite showing at this off season’s CrawsOver Pro-Am, expectations will be quite high for McDaniels. The team is certainly not keeping him around with expectations of a rotational wing, as that role has been addressed through additions of Erich Paschall and Kyle Anderson. The Timberwolves expect growth from McDaniels, and if he fails to deliver on those expectations this year, tensions may start to rise around the organization.

As is the case for all three Wolves on this list, the pressure isn’t for McDaniels to be good. It’s for him to be great.
