What you need to know about Anthony Edwards and Ant Jr.
By Bret Stuter
How well are things going for Minnesota Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edward right now? So well that we have a story that is, for lack of a better word, a bit different. Well a lot different, if you must know.
It begins with Ant-Man’s agent, Omar Wilkes, trying to get the perfect birthday gift for his client. Now, procuring an appreciated gift for an NBA player whose career lies in front of him, and who will not be shy of multiple multi-year multi-million dollar contracts, is not an easy task.
Clothing and apparel won’t do, nor will almost anything that falls into the category of fashion. Almost all digital currency has been taking a bath as of late, so no birthday bitcoins for the Timberwolves guard.
This had to be something special, as Anthony Edwards turned 21 years of age on August 5, 2021, and that is one of the landmark birthdays for any person’s life. And Wilkes also represents Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young, who is 23 years of age. so it had to be something special.
Knowing that this was such an important year for his client, Wilkes commissioned a Los Angeles-based artist, Andre Simmons, to paint a portrait of Ant Jr.
Who is Ant Jr.?
Who is Ant Jr.? Perhaps some son who has been sheltered from the media? A child who was conceived recently, but who has not been discussed? Not at all. Anthony Edwards is a dog lover, and Ant Jr. is his beloved Bulldog. The portrait shows Ant Jr. sitting on a grassy yard, rocking the Minnesota Timberwolves jersey number of his namesake.
Some might get annoyed with a basketball story that does not chime in with statistics or projections about their favorite NBA Player. But it’s important sometimes to learn something about the player’s life off the basketball court too. What better way than to discover that Timberwolves’ star guard, Anthony Edwards, has a four-legged friend to come home to a warm drooling greeting?
Did you know that Bulldogs are one of the most popular breeds in the United States? The breed is popular due to its loving nature, reflected in the United Kennel Club (UKC) classifying the breed in the companion category. It is a very popular breed with celebrities: From Lady Gaga to Leonardo DiCaprio to John Legend, Bulldogs are there to give an endless supply of sloppy kisses and tail wags that move their entire bottom half.
You can learn a great deal about an NBA player from what happens on the basketball court. But you can learn so much more about that NBA player if you take the time to learn something about them off the basketball court. Happy Belated 21st birthday, Anthony Edwards!
