4 reasons why Timberwolves fans can’t miss preseason finale
By Bret Stuter
The Minnesota Timberwolves have the appearance of a solid NBA team already. Of course, it is only the NBA preseason, but the Timberwolves are only one of two teams who are undefeated so far. Which NBA team is the other? None other than the Philadelphia 76ers. That’s not bad company.
For the Timberwolves, it’s particularly encouraging, as the team is aggressively attempting to align so many moving parts. The Timberwolves roster has undergone a complete makeover, which has the extra burden to the team of losing a great deal of continuity based on last year’s successful season.
New season, new roster, new optimism
But in the same breath, the team has removed any ceiling for the team. This ‘new’ roster is not limited to anything the Timberwolves have done in the past. That may mean more work in training camp and through preseason games, but by the same token, means much better payoffs in the regular season. Right now, with the early evidence of how well the Timberwolves appear to be performing, this team is prepared to deliver at or better than expectations.
Of course, this has all taken place on the road so far. The dynamics change completely from a team that has spent a prolonged period in hotel rooms, to waking up in their own beds. The Minnesota Timberwolves open the 2022-23 NBA season nestled in the comfort of home. The Timberwolves play five of their first six games at home at Target Center, and nine of their first twelve games at home.
So why should fans rush to get in a preseason game with the regular season so close? Well, we can come up with four very compelling reasons to show up tonight.
