Reason III: The Timberwolves are trying to finish out a perfect preseason

The Timberwolves may only be competing in the preseason, but they have looked pretty good so far. That’s particularly noteworthy for a team that has just slapped together many different NBA players to fill new roles on this roster.

So far, almost everyone on the roster has stepped up. That is not just the players who have been projected into significant rotational roles for the team, but the entire roster has been showing up at almost every opportunity.  And that will make the cuts to get back to the 15-player roster with two two-way contracts particularly difficult this year.

Home sweet home

The Timberwolves may be looking for a warm reception, but they will earn their pay for the preseason finale. In this one, the Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the Brooklyn Nets, a team whose players are eager to establish themselves as one of the frontrunners for a top-seed berth for the upcoming NBA Playoffs.

The Nets will have some compelling arguments for that outcome, as they are eager to showcase their own supercharged roster led by Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons. The trio played together on the same basketball court for the first time and defeated the Milwaukee Bucks for their first and only preseason win.

The Timberwolves will have a tough test in this one, as the peak performance of the Nets roster is certainly good enough to win in the postseason.
