After welcoming the Thunder to Minneapolis for the season opener on Wednesday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to Oklahoma City to take on their Western Conference foe for the second time in five days.

The Timberwolves staved off a Thunder comeback in game one to earn their first victory of the season, but were unable to do the same on Friday night against a gritty Utah Jazz squad. Facing the possibility of starting the season 1-2, Minnesota will need to put together a strong team performance to avoid a disappointing loss.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have currently won five games in a row against Oklahoma City, dating back to January 5, 2022, which was their first win of a four-game sweep of the Thunder last season. Can they make it six wins in a row on Sunday night?

Timberwolves vs. Thunder Odds, Spread, Over/Under

The latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook have Minnesota as -8 point favorites against the spread. The Timberwolves are -310 on the moneyline, with the Thunder coming in at +250.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction

The Timberwolves will be going on the road for their first contest away from home this season. They’ll be visiting a Thunder squad that has yet to pick up their first win.

Coming off a disappointing home loss to the Jazz, Minnesota should be sharper defensively. After getting burned from three-point range against Utah, look for the Timberwolves to put together more of a complete defensive performance.

Of course, that task will be made harder with the absence of one of their best individual defenders in Kyle Anderson. However, the Thunder will likely pose less of a threat scoring-wise than the Jazz.

Beating any team twice in less than a week is no easy task, but the Timberwolves should be able to use this game as an opportunity to clean up some of the things they needed improvement on through their first two contests.
