Twelve games into their season, the Minnesota Timberwolves will play in their ninth home contest against the Phoenix Suns Wednesday evening at Target Center at 8:00 pm ET.

Minnesota is coming off an ugly home loss to the Knicks where they certainly looked less than inspired. Their competition will get no easier as the Western Conference juggernaut Phoenix comes to town.

The Timberwolves will get a second contest with the Suns after falling to them eight days ago in the Grand Canyon State, 116-107.

Timberwolves vs. Suns Odds, Spread, Over/Under

The latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook have Phoenix as -2 point favorites against the spread. The Suns are -138 on the moneyline, with the Timberwolves coming in at +118.

The over/under for the matchup is 226.0. Through eleven games, the Timberwolves are averaging 113.7 points per game, while the Suns are averaging 112.4 through ten games.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Phoenix Suns Prediction

The Timberwolves will be coming into this game after an embarrassing loss at home to the Knicks on Monday night. They haven’t showed as much fight as Wolves fans would like to see this season, but perhaps a visit from the 2021 Western Conference Champions will up their determination.

With the Suns’ Cameron Johnson having surgery to repair a torn meniscus, one of Phoenix’s key role players will be out for multiple months. Even so, the Suns remain one of the best teams in the league with a record of 7-3. They’re currently in second place out West, with only the Utah Jazz higher than them in the standings.

Despite the Suns’ stellar record through ten games, they’ve only played three games away from home, going 1-2. The Timberwolves should certainly have a better chance in this one than the previous matchup that took place in Phoenix.

Offensively, Devin Booker will be a problem for Minnesota to contain. They’ll have to use multiple defenders on him at times, while Karl-Anthony Towns and the returning Rudy Gobert will have their hands full with Deandre Ayton in the post.

Overall, it will be a tall task for the Timberwolves to come out of this one with a win. Even if they do clean up their lazy, unenergetic play, the Suns are a force to be reckoned with. Expect a Phoenix win, but it could end up being a close contest.

Suns 114, Timberwolves 108
