3 Minnesota Timberwolves are rolling with the Iowa Wolves

Luka Garza, or is it Luke Skywalker?
The top of the heap right now is center Luka Garza, a player who is certainly popping some eyebrows already. His 6-foot-10 and 243-pound frame may be enough to bang the boards, but he has the marksmanship of long-range artillery. He is among the Top-10 scorers in the G-League already, averaging 26.0 points in 30.9 minutes per game.
His ability to score so highly comes from laser-guided accuracy so far, hitting on 76 percent of his shots from the floor, 66.7 of his perimeter shots, and 71.4 percent of his free throws. But it doesnât stop at scoring, as he averages 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game in just 30.9 minutes of playing time.
While there is no lack of talent in the Minnesota Timberwolves front court, making the chances of seeing Garza at Target Center unlikely anytime soon, he is clearly putting on quite a show for the fans of the Iowa Wolves. And, in the process, putting up a very compelling argument to get called up to the Timberwolves at the first opportunity.
Garza is skyrocketing for the Iowa Wolves, and it has only been in four games. Will he see playing time for the Timberwolves? That could happen at his current pace. His perimeter shooting is incredible, and the Timberwolves are certainly struggling in that department right now.
Garza is not perfect just yet. With his size and physicality, he needs to improve his ability to bang the boards, get up to block shots, and box out opponents in the paint to ensure that he has prime real estate when the ball falls off the boards. Still, that all comes with time, coaching, and patience. But what of Wendell Moore Jr. and Josh Minott?
