Timberwolves assign two to Iowa Wolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves have two rookies on the roster, small forward Wendell Moore Jr. and power forward Josh Minott. Since the starters consume so many minutes in an effort to crash course their communication and ability to synch up playing together, the Timberwolves have assigned both rookies to the Iowa Wolves. It’s important to get both Moore and Minott minutes, and the harsh reality is that neither player will get playing time with the Timberwolves right now.
But they are getting plenty of action for the Iowa Wolves.
In case you were wondering, the Iowa Wolves put on a show last night 👀🔥

In 14 games, Wendell Moore Jr. has appeared in one game for two minutes of playing time. Josh Minott has yet to step onto the basketball court for the Timberwolves this season. But both are getting work in the G-League so far. In four games with the Iowa Wolves, Moore has averaged 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 31.3 minutes so far.

His teammate Josh Minott has been equally impressive so far. In four games, he has averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.8 blocks in 33.5 minutes.
Josh Minott is a blast to watch play. Non-stop motor. Rebounds like a madman, dunks everything in sight

Three point shot is trending towards being reliable. Definitely figures to be a top tier defender. Wolves really have something here pic.twitter.com/MvinOeptUv
All three need more work to gain experience, refine their skill sets, and continue to improve their game. But it’s refreshing to see so much quality action from the Timberwolves’ young prospects, ensuring that as the team improves their play at the NBA level, reinforcements remain at the ready on the Iowa Wolves roster, their G-League affiliate.
The Timberwolves are starting to put the pieces together now. When they have finished that work, the team can begin to work with their younger prospects. Until then, it’s the Iowa Wolves for Luka Garza, Wendell Moore Jr., and Josh Minott. Based on how well they have performed early for the Wolves, they will have promising NBA careers.
