Timberwolves vs 76ers: Odds, Injury Report, Prediction, TV Channel for Nov. 19
By Will Eudy
After picking up huge road wins over Cleveland and Orlando this week, the Minnesota Timberwolves will look to extend their winning streak to a season-high three games when they visit Philadelphia to take on the 76ers Saturday night.
Minnesota will be playing against their fifth Eastern Conference opponent of the year, holding a 2-2 record against the East so far this season. This contest will revisit an old rivalry between Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid, and should serve as an exciting matchup between two teams with high aspirations in their respective conferences.
For the Timberwolves, it will be a big opportunity to continue getting their season back on track. As they take on a team that just defeated the 11-3 Milwaukee Bucks, knocking out the 76ers on their home floor would be a major accomplishment.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers’ matchup will feature the clash of two high-powered frontcourts. Joel Embiid remains one of the most dominant individual forces in the NBA, and he seldom goes up against big men that can match his incredible size, strength, and skill.
But he will have his hands full when matching up with Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert on Saturday night. While two-big lineups are growing more scarce in the NBA landscape, they are highly effective against an All-NBA big of Embiid’s caliber.
This matchup of talented frontcourts becomes even more exciting when considering the history between Towns and Embiid. Back in October 2019, the two got into a skirmish that led to both of them being ejected. After Embiid hooked Towns’ arm, they began shoving and head-locking each other until they were separated.
Then in April 2021, the two went at it again, with Embiid intentionally fouling Towns on a drive and pulling him to the ground. This came after Towns had taken it to the basket and dunked all over Embiid earlier in the game.
Needless to say, it should be very interesting to see what’s in store between these two star big men tonight. The Timberwolves shouldn’t have any injured players out, but the 76ers will still be without James Harden. In addition, Tyrese Maxey left Philadelphia’s Friday night game against the Bucks with a left foot injury. His initial MRI came back negative, so it’s possible he plays on Saturday.
Overall, the 76ers are a team that has had more scoring struggles than expected so far this season, but they have also given up the third-least opponent points per game of any team in the league. Look for a defense-oriented game tonight, with the Timberwolves pulling out their third straight win over a Philadelphia team on their second night of a back-to-back.
