3. Zach LaVine

Speaking of a player with dynamic offensive creation abilities, Zach LaVine comes in next on our list. A walking bucket, LaVine has averaged north of 21 points per game for the last five seasons in a row for the Bulls.

He is a face that Minnesota Timberwolves fans recognize well, as he spent the first three seasons of his career in the Twin Cities carving out the beginning of what has been a memorable career thus far. His 2016 All-Star weekend dunk contest battle with Aaron Gordon will never be forgotten by Wolves fans.

But even with as much love as Zach still gets from Minnesota, there is an issue with ranking him above Anthony Edwards. While LaVine’s offensive firepower is significant and it rivals that of Edwards, LaVine is currently on something of a downturn in his career.

For the last two seasons in a row, he has seen a decline in both offensive output and overall efficiency. Since his peak in the 2020-21 season where he earned his first All-Star appearance, he has put up less points and shot a worse percentage from the floor in each of the two following seasons.

Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards has increased his scoring output in the two seasons since his rookie year while scoring more efficiently as well. It would seem that while LaVine is leveling off and plateauing as he approaches the middle of his career, Edwards is rising higher and higher. Given this trend, Ant deserves the benefit of the doubt.
