With two full months of the NBA season gone by, the time to vote for All-Stars has come. Minnesota Timberwolves fans will have the opportunity to help Anthony Edwards earn his first-ever bid to All-Star weekend.
Fan voting officially began at midnight yesterday, December 20th, and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday , January 21st. Fans can vote once per day during this period for any and all of their favorite players.
Considering Anthony Edwards’ play this season, he has certainly put himself in favorable position to potentially be on his way to Salt Lake City in February for All-Star weekend. Edwards is putting up averages of 23.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.8 steals, all while shooting career-high percentages in three-point shots and overall field goals.
How to vote for Anthony Edwards to make the 2023 NBA All-Star Team
Timberwolves fans can submit their votes for Anthony Edwards through the NBA.com voting page, or on the NBA app. To do so, one must create an ‘NBA ID,’ which is free of charge and only requires an email address.
From there, ballots can be submitted with up to 10 total players. Fans will have the option to select two backcourt and three frontcourt players from each conference to fill out their All-Star selections. In total, fan voting will count for 50% of the total All-Star vote, so it will carry major weight in determining who will actually be selected.
During the 32-day window that fans will have to submit their votes, a select number of ‘3-for-1′ days will allow fans’ votes to count for triple their usual value. Those days are: Dec. 25, Jan. 1, Jan. 6, Jan. 13, Jan. 16, and Jan. 20. For the first time, social media voting will be disabled, so fans will no longer be able to stack up votes using Twitter hashtags.
Updates on voting results will be made public on Jan. 5, Jan. 12, and Jan. 19, before the final votes are counted at the end of the day on Jan. 21. NBA All-Star weekend will commence on Friday, February 17th, with the 2023 NBA All-Star Game tipping off at 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 19th. With a little luck and the support of the Timberwolves fan base, we could see Anthony Edwards make his first All-Star appearance in a few short months.
