Is Anthony Edwards ascending to NBA elite status with latest victory?
By Bret Stuter
A1’s A Game is awesome
There is truly o much more to Anthony Edwards than scoring points. The trouble with noticing A1’s full game is that his scoring is so vital and natural for the Timberwolves’ young shooting guard, that we seldom notice all of the other facets that a diamond-like player like Edwards brings to the basketball court.
The value of Edwards extends to his ability to rebound (6.3 RPG – 3rd best on the team), assist (4.4 APG – 3rd best on the team), steal (1.7 SPG – best on the team), and block (0.5 BPG – 6th best on the team). Is it any wonder that a basketball player who can do so much so well has become the duct tape solution for a Timberwolves roster that has been battered with injuries so far this season?
No stars for Anthony Edwards
Despite all that he is doing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards is getting almost no recognition for the upcoming NBA All-Star game. That’s a bit disappointing because few players in the NBA are holding down the fort as well as Edwards is for the Timberwolves, and he is still a very young 21 years of age. But you can help him out by creating your own NBA ID, and using the app below to vote for your favorite NBA players (hopefully Anthony Edwards is among them):
If you want to help out even more, log back in every day and vote again. While you are at it, you may want to consider some of his teammates like center Rudy Gobert or power forward Karl-Anthony Towns.
Timberwolves fans know how valuable Anthony Edwards is to this team. It appears that remains a well-kept secret to the NBA at large. Hopefully, Edwards gets noticed quickly. I’d hate to see his season be ignored.
