The Minnesota Timberwolves may have some seasoned veterans on the team. But much of the value on the Timberwolves roster is the tremendous upside of younger players. Of course, everyone in the NBA acknowledges the upside of Timberwolves star shooting guard Anthony Edwards. But he is not the only third-year star who is rapidly blossoming on the Timbewolves roster this season.
The Timberwolves also have the promising upside of rookie forward Josh Minott, rookie wing Wendell Moore Jr., and Two-Way contract center Luka Garza. All three young players have flashed tremendous ceilings in small samples so far in the 2022-23 NBA season. But the real story on the Timberwolves roster in terms of young players with incredibly high ceilings is that of Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels.
Austin Rivers loves Mcdaniels’ upside
The Minnesota Timberwolves recognized the valuable potential of forward Jaden McDaniels. And every NBA general manager knows it too. But if someone did not recognize his value, Minnesota Timberwolves’ seasoned veteran guard Austin Rivers is letting the cat out of the bag:
Jaden McDaniels' six assists tonight were the second-most he's had in an NBA game.

I asked Austin Rivers about how McDaniels has grown as a playmaker and where he can go from here:
"His ceiling is just as high as Ant’s. ... he's so gifted." pic.twitter.com/reVGJmMXEI
That’s pretty impressive praise from a teammate. The gold standard on the Timberwolves roster in terms of scoring, versatility, and upside, is clearly shooting guard Anthony Edwards. So to be mentioned in the same sentence as AntMan is high praise indeed.
