5 buyout candidates to keep on radar for Timberwolves roster

Option II: Serge Ibaka
In the NBA, bigs are tough to come by when you need them the most. And with the Timberwolves continuing to compete without center/power forward Karl-Anthony Towns, it truly makes sense for the team to explore some options. One such option is Serge Ibaka, who is playing in his 14th NBA season.
While it’s clear that Ibaka is not the same player that he once was in his NBA prime, he is still worth considering as he is a big NBA center who can absorb minutes, haul in rebounds, and keep the starting center fresh for the NBA Playoffs.
Serge Ibaka is likely at or near the sunset of his NBA playing days. But he is a seasoned NBA veteran center, and the Timberwolves are running a bit light at that position right now. Is the need for a segue center so great that the Timberwolves must do something about it right now? Of course not. But with the postseason rapidly approaching, the Timberwolves should exhaust all possible options, and Ibaka is one of the few remaining options available.
