What happened to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday Night? Well, in a season in which the team has faced overwhelming numbers of injuries and adversity, it seems that bad luck is not quite finished with this team. The latest challenge that tests the principle of Murphy’s Law is the sudden drop in production of star shooting guard Anthony Edwards.
Of course, the team is facing a lot of pressure right now. With games running out of the 2022-23 NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves need as much from everyone on the roster as possible. But what if a player is giving as much as possible and it’s nowhere near enough? Such is the case for Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards, a player who has almost single-handedly carried the team to this point in the season, and now is trying to get healthy while trying to help his team find a path to the NBA Playoffs.
Right now, he is fighting an uphill battle. If not for his teammate Mike Conley, we might not even be aware of his struggles:
Mike Conley on what Anthony Edwards is dealing with physically, and what he's had to do to make up for Ant not being able to be himself.

Illness happens at the worst possible time. Right now, illness is running rampant in the Minnesota Timberwolves locker room, and it’s hitting Anthony Edwards at the worst possible time:
No one wants to hear this, but it's clear this illness has ravaged the Wolves. Towns said it hit him hard.

Edwards was throwing up at halftime and laying in the tunnel when he was not in the game. Rivers wasn't even there tonight.
Horrible timing.
Can the Timberwolves get healthy quickly enough to turn the corner once more? That remains to be seen. There is certainly plenty on the line for the team right now.
You have to admire the pure competitiveness of Anthony Edwards right now. He has many reasons not to play, and yet he continues to push himself to the edge to help the Minnesota Timberwolves compete. Hopefully, his teammates can step up and turn things around until he is 100 percent. If not, the Timberwolves may not make the NBA Playoffs this season.
