Conversations about the current controversial clash can wait, can’t they?

The Minnesota Timberwolves have taken their eyes off the prize in the past, and that pattern will continue as long as the fans allow it to happen. The focus of the Timberwolves team must be on winning the next game, not on replaying dramatic events ad nauseum for the amusement of national media seeking a new narrative about this team.

Even if the future of center Rudy Gobert with the Minnesota Timberwolves has come into question (a topic we will address in the near future), do not allow that to overshadow the present challenges that are significant. This team must find a way to defeat one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, the Los Angeles Lakers, and must do so in spite of the depleted Minnesota Timberwolves roster and the current controversy between Gobert and Anderson.

Untimely talking points about this team

That controversy was a topic that head coach Chris Finch was compelled to address after a huge win:

Instead of celebrating the win, Coach Finch is turned back to talking points that have no long-lasting value to this team. That’s not only not in the best interest of the team, but it’s not something that the fans will concern themselves with even one month from now.

This was a matter of the heat OF THE MOMENT. A moment that has come, and gone. In the strictest definition, a moment is the smallest unit of time that is definable to the human mind, a flash image that visually represents an action or event, or one of a countless number of images that are strung together to form a timeline of events.

But, unto itself, a moment carries little durable value. So why divert and invest so much energy into something as common as a heated exchange among teammates on an NBA team that is fighting to remain alive in the NBA postseason?
