Benefit II: It’s nice to see some fight in the Timberwolves roster finale

How many times have passionate Minnesota Timberwolves fans begged the team to get pissed off and show some fight? On more than one occasion, the Timberwolves have come out of the locker room almost half-asleep, and have allowed their opponents to run circles around them.

That’s been more than a momentary lapse to this team. It’s been one of the fatal flaws that have hampered the Timberwolves all season long, this has been a team that will give you a great quarter, maybe a good half, but in terms of full effort for an entire game in the 2022-23 NBA season, well that’s been a rare event.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are learning the value of true grit.

Timberwolves stop tip-toeing, stomp into NBA Play-In Tournament

The NBA is not a finesse sport like figure skating or downhill slalom skiing. One of the most frustrating qualities of the Timberwolves team has been the way it seems that the team tip-toes into difficult settings. Whether it’s a confrontation with a struggling NBA team, an opponent who is struggling with adversity or injuries, or simply the fact that the Timberwolves have enjoyed a short but sweet winning streak, but failed to play to win. Rather, the Timberwolves seem to play not to lose, which inevitably results in losing.

Throughout the entire 2022-23 NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have seemed to be an NBA team that is much better than its record. If the Timberwolves had managed to play even against the worst NBA teams this year, the team would not only show a much better record, but this team would avoid the NBA Play-In Tournament despite the way numerous injuries ravaged this team.

So what if the Timberwolves have a bench brawl? This team needs more fight, and if it comes at the price of some internal heated discussions, then so be it.
